Why do we have a wellbeing framework?

The government has set out its plan for running the country up to 2027. This is called the Programme for Government (PfG). The Wellbeing Framework sits alongside this plan.

The framework acts like a health check for us as a society. It helps show how life is going in Northern Ireland. It looks at facts and figures about our community, environment and economy. These are important to allow our society to flourish.

Key factors for wellbeing

The framework looks at different areas of wellbeing called 'domains'. Improving these domains helps us all to lead healthy, safe and fulfilling lives.

What can the domains tell us?

Each domain of wellbeing has some indicators that we can measure. By looking at these indicators and domains, we can:
