1. Background
NINIS is no longer
available.
NINIS hosted area profiles, statistics, interactive content and maps. This document sets out alternative locations for the NINIS information or contact email addresses for users to request the data if it is not available online.
The NISRA Data Portal is now live and replaces the Statistics element of NINIS, more detail can be found in the Statistics section below.
2. Area Profiles
NINIS area profiles provided summary information for a range of geographies on Census 2011, Population, Economic, Deprivation, Geography, Age Friendly and Making Life Better. These profiles are replaced by the following:
- Census: Census Area Explorer
- Local area statistics: Local Statistics Explorer
- Making Life Better: Making Life Better
NISRA publish a wide range of visualisations which can be accessed via the NISRA Visualisation Page, of particular note:
- Population: NISRA Population Statistics interactive dashboard
- Economic: Economic Overview and the NI Local Labour Market Insight dashboard
- Deprivation: NI Deprivation 2017 Statistics
3. Statistics
NISRA have developed a new dissemination platform – The NISRA Data Portal which is the source for data by geographical areas within NI and NI as a whole. NINIS data sets have been migrated to the new portal, and alternative arrangements made where this has not been possible. You can search for the new location of NINIS statistics using the interactive table below, in some cases an email address is provided as the content may no longer be produced and users can email for further information.
4. Interactive Content
Interactive content on NINIS included maps and infographics. You can search for the new location of NINIS maps and infographics using the interactive table below, in some cases an email address is provided as the content may no longer be produced and users can email for further information.
5. Maps
The NINIS mapping element allowed users to enter an address or postcode and view static maps at different geographical levels, they contain no data just boundary information.
NISRA has developed a new prototype Find my area, this webpage allows users to enter a postcode and see the administrative and statistical areas it sits within. It is designed to replace the postcode search feature on NINIS.
The NISRA Boundary Application, developed by Land and Property Services (LPS) for NISRA, can be used to explore the location of addresses (based on Pointer), postcodes and boundaries of areas in more detail. The location of a postcode in the Central Postcode Directory (CPD) layer is the property closest to the average location of all properties in that postcode. Therefore, the location of some postcodes can differ slightly between the address locator and the CPD.
6. Useful information
