15. Civil applications are adjudicated by LSANI. The number Awaiting Determination at each month end is an accumulation of those received in preceding months along with the latest month and have either been queried with the requestor or awaiting assessment.↩︎

16. Criminal legal aid is granted by NICtS and cases are retrospectively transferred to LAMS. For the purposes of the dashboard, criminal applications are automatically considered as completed upon receipt by LSANI.↩︎

17. Includes application requests where the request outcome has been granted, refused, escalated from Advice and Assistance to Rep Lower or is Undetermined.↩︎

18. Figures based on the month in which requests are completed do not necessarily reflect the month they were received. Not all requests submitted in a particular month will be completed within that same month. Monthly figures are not retrospectively revised.↩︎

19. Excludes requests for Exceptional Preparation as these are captured at Figure 21. Authority requests in relation to Interpreters and Level of Representation are included. Authority requests cover for example.
    
    * A & A – authority/experts (printing costs, medical notes, PACE travel and mileage), extensions (advice, letters/emails) and interpreter/translation requests.
    
    * Criminal – authorities/experts (medical reports, medical experts and other experts such as psychologists/engineers etc.) and interpreter/translation requests.
